In high school, did you take a career aptitude test? Did you take the results to heart or immediately cast them aside with disdain? I was the latter teenager. Apparently, my perfect career match was…wait for it… Dictionary Editor.
Yep. So, I did what any headstrong, know-it-all teenager would do. I went to college pursuing a degree in astrophysics. That was interesting but halfway through I knew I didn’t want to dedicate the time or energy for any careers related to astrophysics. Anthropology it was. And that was interesting, too. Twenty years later, I finally realize I would have been a darn good Dictionary Editor. And like it. I like language. I like reading it, writing it, and experiencing it with others.
